EAST IDAHO AQUARIUM

The renovation of the East Idaho Aquarium has been centered on improving life safety and structural integrity while preserving the facility’s unique educational and aquatic environment. Structural upgrades included reinforcing existing framing systems to support aquatic equipment and storage needs. Life safety enhancements were a major focus—including new fire-rated separations, updated sprinkler systems, and added emergency egress lighting now provide a higher level of protection for both visitors and staff.

Equally important, the renovation incorporated ADA accessibility improvements to create a more inclusive experience. Barrier-free pathways allow guests of all abilities to engage fully with the aquarium’s displays and learning areas. Entrances and circulation routes were regraded to meet current accessibility standards, and new handrails were added.
