PORTNEUF VALLEY SOCCER CLUB
The Portneuf Valley Soccer Complex is an adaptive reuse project that transforms the former Bucyrus-Erie factory into a community-oriented indoor soccer facility. The multi-phase approach allows the building to be systematically upgraded while maintaining momentum toward full conversion, addressing infrastructure, safety, and usability in each stage. Early phases have focused on bringing the structure up to current building and life safety codes, including major improvements to fire protection, egress routes, and safety. As the project progresses, additional upgrades continue to ensure ADA accessibility throughout the complex, creating an inclusive environment where athletes and visitors of all abilities can participate and enjoy the space.
The reuse of the existing industrial building not only preserves a piece of local history but also demonstrates a sustainable approach to community development. The large open span of the original factory lends itself naturally to athletic use, providing ample room for soccer fields, spectator zones, and multipurpose community areas. Through thoughtful planning and phased implementation, the Portneuf Valley Soccer Complex is being reimagined as a safe, accessible, and revitalized recreation destination—one that reflects both the community’s pride in its industrial heritage and its commitment to health, wellness, and connection.
